Sint-Truidense and Brann head into their 5 November 2026 meeting with perfect records in the Conference League league phase. They are two of the eight clubs to win both opening matchdays of the 2026/27 edition. Their six points conceal different performances, however: the Belgian side have scored three goals without conceding, while the Norwegian side have scored six and conceded two.
This comparison covers only league-phase matches played on 15 and 22 October, using results published by UEFA and checked on 23 October 2026. It excludes qualifying ties, domestic cup games and national league fixtures.
Which results earned the teams their six points?
| Date | Result |
|---|---|
| 15/10/2026 | Sint-Truidense 2-0 Iberia Tbilisi |
| 15/10/2026 | Brann 2-1 Lincoln Red Imps |
| 22/10/2026 | Midtjylland 0-1 Sint-Truidense |
| 22/10/2026 | Kauno Žalgiris 1-4 Brann |
Sint-Truidense opened with a 2-0 home win over Iberia Tbilisi before beating Midtjylland 1-0 away. Brann defeated Lincoln Red Imps 2-1 at home, then won 4-1 away to Kauno Žalgiris in Lithuania on matchday two.
The result in Lithuania accounts for four of Brann’s six league-phase goals. According to the club’s own report published on 22 October, Noah Holm scored three times in that 4-1 victory. The result helps explain their higher attacking total, but it does not, by itself, establish that Brann create more chances in every setting.
A clean-sheet record against greater scoring output
| Metric | Sint-Truidense | Brann |
|---|---|---|
| Matches | 2 | 2 |
| Wins | 2 | 2 |
| Draws | 0 | 0 |
| Losses | 0 | 0 |
| Points | 6 | 6 |
| Goals for | 3 | 6 |
| Goals against | 0 | 2 |
| Goal difference | +3 | +4 |
| Clean sheets | 2 | 0 |
Brann have scored twice as many goals and hold a better goal difference (+4 against +3), despite conceding twice. Sint-Truidense have kept a clean sheet in both matches. Their goals-per-match averages are 3.0 for Brann and 1.5 for Sint-Truidense; these are results-based figures, not measurements of chance quality or tactical superiority.
There are significant limits to the comparison: the teams have faced different opponents, and the sample is just two of the six scheduled matches. These scorelines are insufficient to predict a winner, establish the relative strength of their opponents, or claim that one defence is inherently stronger.
Which eight clubs have perfect records?
Counting results from UEFA’s two completed matchdays, eight of the 36 teams have two wins from two matches: Lugano, Hajduk Split, Panathinaikos, Monaco, Twente, Trabzonspor, Sint-Truidense and Brann. This is a snapshot after matchday two, not the final standings or a guarantee of qualification.
What is at stake on matchday three?
Under the 2026/27 Conference League regulations, the 36 participants each play six league-phase matches. The top eight at the end advance directly to the round of 16, teams ranked ninth to 24th enter the knockout phase play-offs, and the remaining teams are eliminated. Goal difference is the first tiebreaker for clubs level on points at the end of the league phase, followed by goals scored.
Brann’s current goal difference (+4) is therefore better than Sint-Truidense’s (+3), despite both having six points. On 5 November, a winner would reach nine points; a draw would leave both on seven. Neither outcome alone settles qualification, as three further matchdays will follow the encounter.
When and where is Sint-Truidense vs Brann?
The matchday-three fixture is scheduled for Thursday 5 November 2026 at 21:00 in Belgium (CET, UTC+1), or 17:00 in Brasília (UTC-3), at Stayen in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. UEFA identifies the home team and stadium, while Brann’s match guide confirms the date and kick-off time. The schedule and figures should be checked again before the match in case of official changes.
