Lens host Como on 4 November 2026 in Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League league phase with a seven-goal gap in attacking output: the French side scored three goals and the Italian side scored ten across their first three matches. Kick-off is scheduled for 21:00 in Paris (CET), 17:00 in Brasília, at Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens.
As checked on 29 October, Lens had three points, seven goals conceded and a -4 goal difference; Como had six points, five conceded and a +5 goal difference. UEFA’s provisional table placed Como ninth and Lens 27th. Neither position is a final qualification or elimination verdict.
The six results before the meeting
| Team | Date | Score |
|---|---|---|
| Lens | 10/09/2026 | Slavia Praha 2-3 Lens |
| Lens | 13/10/2026 | Lens 0-2 Sporting CP |
| Lens | 21/10/2026 | Club Brugge 3-0 Lens |
| Como | 10/09/2026 | Como 4-1 Leipzig |
| Como | 14/10/2026 | Feyenoord 3-2 Como |
| Como | 21/10/2026 | Como 4-1 Manchester United |
All three Lens goals came in their opening 3-2 away win at Slavia Praha. They then lost 0-2 at home to Sporting CP and 0-3 away to Club Brugge. The French side have therefore failed to score in two consecutive Champions League matches.
Como scored in all three matches: four against Leipzig, two in their defeat at Feyenoord and another four against Manchester United. Ten goals do not mean three wins: Como won twice and lost once.
What Como’s ten goals and Lens’s three reveal
| After three matchdays | Lens | Como |
|---|---|---|
| Matches | 3 | 3 |
| Wins | 1 | 2 |
| Points | 3 | 6 |
| Goals scored | 3 | 10 |
| Goals conceded | 7 | 5 |
| Goal difference | -4 | +5 |
| Goals scored per match | 1.00 | 3.33 |
Venue matters to the interpretation. Eight of Como’s ten goals came in two home matches, against Leipzig and Manchester United. In their only away match, they scored twice but lost 3-2 to Feyenoord. Lens scored all three goals away to Slavia Praha and failed to score in their lone home match. That describes where the goals came from; it does not prove the same pattern will recur in Lens.
Why three matches are too small a sample
The opposition also differed. Lens faced Slavia Praha, Sporting CP and Club Brugge; Como played Leipzig, Feyenoord and Manchester United. Club reputations alone cannot establish which schedule was harder. Measuring opponent strength would require comparable performance and contextual criteria beyond three scorelines for each side.
These are actual goals in the 2026/27 league phase, not expected goals (xG), projections or win probabilities. Como’s 3.33 goals per match is simply ten divided by three, rounded to two decimal places. Such a short sample should not be turned into a prediction for 4 November.
Every club plays eight league-phase matches. At its conclusion, the top eight advance directly to the round of 16, teams placed ninth to 24th enter the knockout play-offs, and the rest are eliminated. Both teams had five matches left as of 29 October. The meeting matters for points, but it cannot be labelled a qualification decider or proof of future attacking superiority before kick-off.
