Hajduk Split will play its UEFA Conference League match against Sint-Truidense on 26 November 2026 at Stadion Poljud behind closed doors. The Croatian club has also been fined €80,000 over pyrotechnic incidents and €16,000 for blocked stairways, a combined €96,000. A second stadium-closure order is conditional and does not mean two matches are already scheduled without spectators.
Hajduk issued its statement on 21 October following the match against Ajax in Split on 15 October. As checked on 23 October, UEFA listed one active behind-closed-doors sanction and another closure measure under probation.
Why was Hajduk fined €96,000?
According to Hajduk, pyrotechnic devices caused an interruption during the Ajax match, in the first league-phase matchday of the 2026/27 UEFA Conference League. UEFA also sanctioned the blocking of stairways in the stands. The two fines arise from different infringements, even though they were disclosed in the same disciplinary statement.
| Reported infringement | Fine | Related consequence |
|---|---|---|
| Disruption involving pyrotechnics | €80,000 | Stadium closure for Hajduk vs Sint-Truidense and a separate conditional closure |
| Blocked access on stairways | €16,000 | Additional financial fine |
| Total fines | €96,000 | Arithmetic sum of the two fines; excludes any estimate of lost revenue |
Which closure is active and which requires a new incident?
The immediate measure is a full stadium closure for the home match against Sint-Truidense. UEFA's active supporter-attendance restrictions list one match for Hajduk. This is not merely the closure of a section, nor does it mean all future European home matches have been ordered to take place without fans.
A separate full-stadium closure is suspended during a probationary period. According to the club, it may be enforced if the same or similar pyrotechnic incidents recur. UEFA's probationary sanctions page gives an expiry date of 21 October 2028. That second sanction should therefore not be counted as another automatically spectator-free match.
When is Hajduk vs Sint-Truidense?
UEFA schedules Hajduk Split vs Sint-Truidense for Thursday, 26 November 2026, at Stadion Poljud in Split, Croatia, on matchday four of the league phase. Initial reports, including HRT's coverage on 21 October, referred to the fixture as matchday three, but UEFA's official competition calendar identifies it as matchday four.
Hajduk remains the home club; the disciplinary ruling restricts supporter attendance. It does not, by itself, establish a change of venue, removal from the Conference League or a points deduction. None of those consequences is stated in the sources reviewed for this decision.
What does this mean for the club and its supporters?
The immediate consequence is that supporters cannot watch the Sint-Truidense match from the stands. The closure also removes the usual matchday ticket-sales opportunity, but the reviewed sources do not support a specific net-loss calculation. The €96,000 figure represents disciplinary fines, not estimated lost revenue.
Hajduk urged supporters to avoid further harmful conduct at European matches, both home and away, citing financial and reputational damage. The essential distinction is between one fixture already subject to a stadium closure and another sanction that may take effect only if its condition is met. Information checked on 23 October 2026.
