Benfica and Lech Poznań approach their fourth league-phase match in the 2026/27 UEFA Europa League with a nine-goal gap in attacking output. After three matches, Benfica have scored 10 goals, conceded two and collected nine points. Lech have scored once, conceded nine and earned one point. This comparison covers only the league phase, through 22 October 2026, and excludes domestic competitions and European qualifying rounds.

The fixture is scheduled for Thursday 5 November at Estádio da Luz in Lisbon, at 20:00 local mainland Portugal time, equivalent to 21:00 CET and 17:00 in Brasília. Benfica are the home side. These are scheduling details, not a result for a match that has yet to take place.

Which results make up the comparison?

UEFA lists the following results from the first three matchdays, with home-team scores shown first:

Matchday and dateBenficaLech Poznań
1 (16-17 Sep)Milan 0-2 BenficaCrystal Palace 4-0 Lech Poznań
2 (15 Oct)Benfica 4-1 CelticLech Poznań 0-4 Leverkusen
3 (22 Oct)Omonia 1-4 BenficaLech Poznań 1-1 Sunderland

Benfica beat Milan 2-0 away, defeated Celtic 4-1 at home and scored four again away to Omonia. Lech lost 4-0 to both Crystal Palace and Leverkusen before drawing 1-1 at home to Sunderland. That draw brought Lech their first goal and first point of the league phase. Ron Walker's report for Sky Sports also confirms the draw against the English club.

Goal difference is goals scored minus goals conceded: 10 minus 2 gives Benfica +8, while 1 minus 9 gives Lech -8. The gap in goal difference is therefore 16, which is different from the nine-goal gap in goals scored. The teams are separated by eight points. Both have played exactly three matches, making these descriptive totals directly comparable.

The distribution also differs: Benfica scored in all three games and won twice away from home. Lech played two of their three matches at home and failed to score in the first two. According to Reuters, the 4-1 victory over Omonia preserved Benfica's perfect record at the end of matchday three.

What do the figures suggest for 5 November?

The record gives Benfica a clear advantage in results accumulated so far, but it does not guarantee victory in the head-to-head match. The opponents faced were different, and three games are a small sample. Goals and points alone cannot establish tactical superiority, chance quality or a statistical probability of winning.

The meeting will be the fourth of eight scheduled league-phase fixtures for each club. Benfica will seek to extend their winning run; Lech will target their first victory after taking a point against Sunderland. This is not a knockout tie decided on aggregate. Both sides will still have four league-phase matches remaining after this round.

Scope: completed matches through 22 October 2026, checked on 24 October 2026. Kick-off details may be revised officially; no line-up or match-result prediction is provided.
